Our Mission: "The Sausalito Parks & Recreation Department strives to provide quality programs to Sausalito and its community that enhance growth, expression and recreation through people, parks and programs."
WORK HAS BEGUN!
Story Poles have been put up inside the playground at Robin Sweeny Park. They are marking the height and location of the new playground equipment. One set represents the new swing set which will include a tire swing, classic belt swing, and a tot swing. The other set represents the new Climb and Spin structure.
All construction projects in Sausalito are required to put up story poles such as these a minimum of 10 days prior to the Planning Commission meeting where the project will be heard. The poles are also required to be up for 10 days after the meeting. The Playground will be up for approval by the Planning Commission on July 29th. The meeting will be held in the City Council chambers and begins at 7 pm. We invite you to be part of this meeting and help us move forward with the new park.
Unfortunately, for safety concerns, the existing playground must be closed while the story poles are in place.
If you would like to see the plans for the new park you can go to www.RobinSweenyPark.org. There you will see a full set of plans along with an explanation of how the plans were developed, notes from the numerous community meetings that were held, as well as additional useful information.
