Parking is in short supply in a number of areas of our beautiful city. As a result, there are specific areas in Sausalito that require its residents to display parking permits on the rear bumpers of their vehicles. These yearly permits are required in order to park more than two hours in certain areas. The effected areas stretch from Old Town through the Caledonia Street Areas, as detailed below.

Permits do not allow free parking at meters.

Please note: Sausalito, like most communities, has an ordinance that vehicles can be parked for a maximum of 72-hours before they must be moved. This ordinance applies even if the vehicle is displaying a valid residential parking permit. This ordinance is enforced on all public streets, including all municipal parking lots.

For exact boundaries or to see if you are required to have a permit, you may check the listings below or contact the Parking Authority office at at (415) 289-4149.

Residential and Guest Parking Permits may be obtained through the Sausalito Parking Authority at the Sausalito Police Station with appropriate Sausalito ID and your vehicle registration.

Office Hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:30am - 1:30pm.

For more information, please contact the Parking Authority office at 415-289-4149.
