Public Forum on the Dunphy Park Schematic Master Plan
The Parks and Recreation Commission held their first of two public forums seeking input on the proposed Schematic Master Plan as presented by the Friends of Dunphy Park on January 19. The next forum will be held on January 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Schematic Master Plan is a guideline to assure that the future improvements and plans funded by Measure F and other sources are compatible with the City’s long range view for Park development. Parks and Recreation Commission
The Parks and Recreation Commission meets regularly at 6:30 PM on the third Wednesday of each month. The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of five members appointed by the City Council. Each member is appointed for a three year term. The purpose of the Commission is to advise the City Council on development and maintenance of the City’s parks and on broad-based recreation programs. Commissioners also participate in variety of special events sponsored by the Sausalito Parks & Recreation Department such as the annual Caledonia Street Fair, Easter Parade, Fourth of July Celebration, Halloween Parade and Chili Cook-Off. The Commission has also been very successful in promoting and receiving input on various recreation services from the public and advises the Parks & Recreation Department based on the community’s feedback.


Length of Term: 3 years

Requirements: Must be a resident of Sausalito
