Happy Fiscal New Year!
Posted Date: 7/7/2017 4:00 PM
On July 1, the City of Sausalito rolled over its finances into a new fiscal year. Each year, agencies working on a July 1 to June 30 fiscal year implement their newly adopted budget and begin to close the books on the old year.

The fiscal year 2017-18 budget, adopted by the City Council on June 20, represents the second year of the two-year strategic resources allocation plan adopted in June 2016. The budget has few adjustments from the original proposal. It continues initiatives the City of Sausalito started last year, such as:

Public Works
  • An increase of $166,000 in landscape maintenance contract funds for medians, the downtown area, and parks
  • A dedicated capital program management team
Community Development
  • Funds to upgrade the City's general plan over the next three years
  • An assistant planner position upgraded to senior planner to facilitate complex development projects and the general plan update process
  • A part-time code enforcement officer (contract position)
  • A part-time assistant building inspector (contract position)
Police
  • An additional parking enforcement officer
  • An additional part-time seasonal police officer
  • A part-time emergency services planner
  • A part-time harbor assistant and a part-time harbor officer to manage the City's water enforcement activities
