There are a variety of different rental parking permits available to those working in or commuting from the downtown Sausalito area.
Please note that the California Vehicle Code requires that vehicles may be parked for a maximum of 72-hours before they must be moved. This ordinance is enforced on all public streets, including all municipal parking lots.
Displaying a disabled placard does NOT exempt a vehicle from this 72-hour rule.
Permits may be obtained through the Sausalito Parking Authority, located at the Sausalito Police station at 29 Caledonia Street.
Please contact them at (415) 289-4149 with any questions.
Permit Placement Requirement
For vehicle-specific permits to be considered valid, you must affix the permit to the driver's side rear bumper. Improperly displayed permits will be considered invalid and vehicles with improperly displayed permits will be cited for overtime parking. Permits are only valid for the vehicle to which it was issued.

Municipal Lot #5 is available as over-flow parking for D Permit holders if no space is available in Lots #3 and #4.
Cost per vehicle: $260.00/calendar quarter.
L permits are available to anyone (residents, non-residents and businesses) and allow unlimited parking in Lot #5, located on Turney Street. Parking spaces for this area are so designated with "Permit" signs. L PERMITS ARE ONLY VALID IN THIS AREA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN ANY OTHER PERMIT AREA.
