BATTERIES: Take household batteries to City Hall for recycling. Place them in the plastic container.  Take car and marine batteries to ARC Battery Co., 90 Gate 5 Road. ARC is open 8-6 weekdays and 9-2 on Saturdays.

CARDBOARD: Recycle curbside. Use a weight or paper bag to keep it from blowing away.

CATALOGS AND MAGAZINES:  Consider sharing catalogs and magazines with your friends or co-workers.  If you need to recycle them, place in the blue recycling container for pickup.  All recyclables can share a single container.

CHRISTMAS TREES: Clean, unflocked only. Christmas trees are excellent candidates for greencycling. Greencycle as noted below under "Yard Waste".  Stands, tinsel and ornaments must be removed.

COMPUTERS AND ELECTRONICS: Renue Computers will accept most electronics for recycling or reuse.  Monitors and TV's can go to the Hazardous Waste Facility in San Rafael. OR, you can save them for our annual e-waste event in January. 

FLUORESCENT BULBS: These are hazardous waste.  Please take them to the Hazardous Waste Facility or to Waterstreet Hardware on Caledonia Street.

GLASS:  Place clean bottles and jars in the blue recycling container for curbside pickup.  All recyclables can share a single container.  It's OK to mix colors together for recycling.  Unfortunately, all other types of glass such as drinking glasses, light bulbs, window glass or mirrors are not recyclable.  They contain lead and other contaminants. 

METAL CANS: Recycle curbside. All recyclables can share the blue container.

MILK CARTONS: Recycle curbside. All recyclables can share the blue container.

PLASTIC CONTAINERS:  Place plastics labeled Numbers 1 through 7 in the blue container for curbside pickup.  All recyclables can share a single container. 

NEWSPAPER, JUNK MAIL, ENVELOPES:  Consider sharing newspapers with your friends or co-workers.  If you need to recycle them, place them in a recycling container for curbside pickup.  All recyclables can share a single container.  It's OK to mix colors.  Window envelopes are OK.  Remember, only clean paper!  Put food soiled paper and cardboard inteh green container.  

PAINT, PESTICIDES AND HOUSEHOLD CHEMICALS: Take these items to the Hazardous Waste Facility - especially latex paint which is recycled  Paint can also go to where you bought it. 

STYROFOAM: You can take "peanuts" to the mailing store at 1001 Bridgeway, (corner of San Carlos) or to The UPS Store at 3001 Bridgeway. Unfortunately, big blocks of Styrofoam are garbage.

YARD WASTE: Recycle curbside in the green toters.  You can also put it in paper bags, or tie bundles of branches no longer than 4' or greater than 3" diameter. The paper bags are sold in local hardware stores.
