Councilmember Thomas Theodores was first elected to the City Council in November, 2012. He served as mayor in 2015 and Vice Mayor in 2014. He previously served on Sausalito’s Historic Landmarks Board from 2006 through 2010 and as its Chair from 2008 through 2010.
Tom also serves as the Sausalito Council representative on the Transportation Authority of Marin, the Marin Telecommunications Agency and the Marin County Council of Mayors and Councilmembers Legislative Committee and Homeless Policy Subcommittee.
He serves on the City Council Legislative Review Committee and as the Council liaison to Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee, Board of Library Trustees, Disaster Preparedness Committee and Fort Baker Task Force.
Tom is a retired attorney having practiced in the corporate, international, and intellectual property areas.
He has a JD and BA in Political Science/Economics. He served on the board of directors of Coro Northern California and is a graduate of Coro's Community Fellows Program.
Tom’s wife, Tricia Smith, is involved in aging issues in Sausalito and is a member of the Marin County Commission on Aging.
