Parks & Recreation Commission Seeks New Members
Posted Date: 2/17/2017 4:30 PM
2017 is a big year for parks in Sausalito, with plans underway for renovations and upgrades to both Dunphy Park and Southview Park. Due to expiring terms and a commissioner who has moved on to the City Council, the five-member Parks & Recreation Commission is seeking new members so it can fulfill its role in advising the City Council on development and maintenance of the City's parks. The Commission also provides feedback and input on the recreation programs and events produced by the Sausalito Parks and Recreation Department. If you have ever considered serving on a City of Sausalito board or commission, this is a great time to step up.

Parks and Recreation commissioners are appointed by the City Council after an interview process to assess the qualifications of applicants. New commissioners typically serve a three-year term. Two terms may be served before a commissioner "terms out." Commissioners must reside in Sausalito. Meetings are held monthly.

If you would like to learn more about serving on the Parks and Recreation Commission, please contact Parks and Recreation Director Mike Langford at or (415) 289-4126. If you are ready to apply, please fill out an online application form, available from the City's website. City Council is planning to fill these vacancies soon, so don't delay!
